Tree of Life

As I as thinking about the fountain of youth, I drifted over to thoughts of the Garden of Eden with its Tree of Life and the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. I thought that the roots of the Tree of Life are anchored in the realization that we are loved by God. And the fruit of the Knowledge of Good and Evil is that we are dust.

When we look for the Tree of Life without the benefit of spiritual insight, we are trying to deny that we are dust in the WIND. (WIND is one of my nicknames for God.) And the Tree of Life is guarded by an angel with a burning sword. So, no matter how close we get (to total knowledge), we will still be brought up short by the fact that we are dust.

We can’t push our scientific tools and minds far enough that we will find the fountain of youth. We won’t find all the answers on our own. But the Tree of Life is right there in front of us, if we would just open our spiritual eyes we could see it.
